Following a recent post by Sax about how good this company was, This weekend, Ridders,Hummingbee and I decided that we would check out Rochford Archery for ourselves. I have to say that everything that Sax had said about them was true. They are a relatively new company, with a very smart brand new premises in Rochford, and have a good selection of products and ranges. Mark and Annette, who are the owners are in the process of expanding their stock, but if you want something that they do not have ...

New Archery Shop Found in Essex

I was given this information by a member of another club. So yesterday afternoon, we went for a 'cruise in the Evo' to the Southend area.

We eventually found the shop in Rochford, just north of Southend airport.

It is run by Annette and Mark who decided that they were fed up with being ripped off by other companies - and could supply us poor souls a lot more cheaply than other suppliers and still make a profit.

The shop is in a modern development opposite Somerfield in the precinct. It ...

I have heard many horror stories about equipment bought on e-bay regarding faulty equipment.
I think the worst thing that you can do is buy a set of limbs - you cant tell from the photo if they are twisted or have started to de-laminate - and the seller certainly isn't gonna say anything.
My advice is buy from e-bay - but get your limbs from a known supplier.

If you are new to Archery, perhaps not even started with a club yet, and you are looking for equipment. Well my first and most important suggestion is to Stop and Wait! Archery is a great sport for all ages, but unless a set of rules / code of conduct is followed, it can be dangerous.

The first most sensible thing to do, is to join a club near you, there are many. The club will have equipment that you can use initially, and you will be guided by a Coach, or by other more experienced archers. ...
