PostSubject: A really enjoyable day   Sun Jun 28, 2009 6:38 pm

Fox Archers held their Annual Independence Day Shoot at Otford today. The event was extremely well supported by archers from quite a few local clubs, and others from much further afield. The day was fantastic even though the weather forecast had predicted some showers. However the whole event was carried out under brilliant sunshine, and if anything the field being in a sheltered location on occasions was a tad too hot. I think I lost about a stone in weight just by perspiration loss No
The event was managed by Saxonlynn, who was taking the role of Field Captain, on for the first time. She did a cracking job in keeping us all on the straight and narrow. I was on boss 15, with Ridders, and two other archers, and whilst not expecting to be in a medal winning position today, developed a keen competitive edge with Ridders, as we are both Compound Archers. I am pleased to say that for the first time, I was able to beat him undertaking an American, with a reasonable score of 654 - During the interval we were treated to a really exceptional fare, of ploughmans lunch, followed by strawberries and cream. It was fantastic, although, I am not sure that after it I wanted to get up and start shooting again. The team who looked after the catering really must be congratulated for their efforts. Later in the day we were joined by Chris Hinks who has also recently joined the club, and who came down to see what competitions were all about, it think he was able to get a good idea. So finally after the presentations at the end of the day, and all the kit packed away, everyone has gone their separate ways, until the next time......but that's another story Sleep
